Every year the Radcliffe Shelter rehomes over 1,200 animals. Many of these have been neglected and abandoned onto the streets of Nottingham, left to fend for themselves in damp and freezing weather conditions.
While they are waiting for the right family to take them home, they are cared for by the
dedicated staff at the Radcliffe Shelter. They receive any medical care they may need, from vaccinations to special diets to bring them back to full health.
For example, Simba was very underweight, had scabs over his skin and hair loss. Vets
estimated that he had been suffering for at least three months. He is now happy and
healthy but what would of happened to him if there had been no Radcliffe Shelter?
We desperately need your help to keep the shelter running and continue its valuable work
in your local area. Any donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully received.

The shelter has 20 Labradors, all of which need to find suitable new homes.
The dogs were among 82 removed from a location in Norfolk when their owner could no longer cope".
These dogs are not your average Andrex Labradors and sadly many are very nervous.
They have never been outside and have never been socialised with the exception of being around other dogs. As such they have never been house trained or lived in a house, never been on a lead or even seen grass before now! They will not have met children or cats, cars or bikes, vacuum cleaners, washing machines or heard a television. Many of these things will be an overwhelming experience for them.
The Labradors all have an estimated age between 6 and 10 years and have lived all of their lives before now in a barn.
Could you offer one of these dogs a home?
If you think you may like to give a home to one or more of these very special dogs please consider the following;-
Are you experienced with dogs? These dogs are not first time dogs and their new owners will encounter many difficulties and need to be able to recognise certain behaviours.
Have you got endless time and patience?
These dogs will need to be treated as puppies, as everything will be new to them. They are likely to be fearful and try to escape new situations. Their recovery may be slow and frustrating.
Are you totally committed?
These dogs need a stable and permanent home for the rest of their lives.
These dogs will become available for homing as soon as we feel they are fit enough and ready to face another change to their environment. Each one will be different and will be treated as an individual.
If you are not in a position to give one of our dogs a new home you can still help aid their recovery by pressing the donate now button.
